Long rectangular basin with rebated corners, the south end is fed by a minor cascade spring flanked by carved horses; behind are steps up to the swimming pool at a higher level; this has apsed ends and stepped edges. Paths at different levels to lawn and flagged hallways; steps between levels at ends and in centre. The steps between the swimming pool and lower basin lead to path up to the stairs of the main terrace (qv). The garden layout reflects Edwardian ideals; this water garden is beautifully landscaped.
