SE 81 NE FLIXBOROUGH HIGH STREET (north side)

1/33 Church of All Saints - 6.11.67 - II

Church. 1886 by C Hodgson Fowler. Rock-faced ironstone with ashlar dressings, slate roof, stone-coped gables and wooden bellcote with lead roof. Gothic Revival style. 3-bay nave and 2-bay chancel with south porch and vestry on north side of chancel. Nave and chancel have plinth, moulded cill band and flat-headed windows of 1, 2 and 3 lights, and pointed east and west windows, all with Reticulated tracery. Small circular window with Flowing tracery in upper west gable. West bellcote on a tapering weatherboarded base has wooden 3-light belfry openings with tracery beneath a tall 4-sided spirelet. Interior has an arch- braced nave roof, a pointed chamfered chancel arch supported on moulded corbels and painted panelled chancel ceiling. Massive Norman bowl font on later hexagonal base.
