HUNDERTHWAITE HUNDERTHWAITE NY 92 SE 992208 10/88 Field Barn, 700 metres east of Hunderthwaite Farmhouse II

Field barn. Dated 1822 on keystone. Squared rubble with ashlar dressings.

Stone-flagged roof.

2 storeys, 3 bays with flush alternating quoins. Pair of boarded doors, to left of centre, in elliptical-arched, flush surround with tooled voussoirs, impost blocks and jambs. Raised keystone of archway inscribed: W. Bayles 1822. 2 small breathers in left bay. Dutch door and first floor opening, in flush, tooled surrounds, in right bay. Gabled returns have small breathers in a triangular pattern. Pigeon holes and ledges, also in triangular pattern, in right gable. Roof with coped gables.

Included as a rare example of an unaltered field barn.
