HANLEY CASTLE CP A 440 (east side) SO 84 SW 3/120 Lodge at entrance to drive to Severn End GV II

Lodge. Late C19. Brick with sandstone dressings, and applied timbering, and tile roof. Two storeys. Has two gabled wings, one facing the drive and one facing the road. Each has a 4-light chamfered stone mullioned window on the ground floor. On the first floor each has applied close- studding and a 5-light timber mullioned window. The bargeboards are carved with vine scroll ornament. In the angle between the two wings, the main roof is swept down over a porch. Part of this porch is open and is supported on three oak Tuscan columns on stone pedestals. Chimneys at rear with clustered shafts.
