DURSLEY KINGSHILL LANE ST 7598 (north side) 5/17 No 3 II
Former lodge house, now small detached house. Circa 1880 for Edwin Eyre. Incised render; limestone ashlar dressings; random rubble with ashlar dressings on secondary elevations; ashlar chimneys; Welsh slate roof. T-plan; 2-storey. Flat-roofed garage addition at north end is not of special interest. Parapet gabled ends facing south and west each with flat-roofed canted single-storey bay window and Venetian window with plain keyed architraves above; 12-pane sashes to front of bays with narrow 4-pane sashes to sides.
Projecting moulded cornice to bays with plain parapet above. Quoin pilaster strips and open gable pediments. Square flat-roofed porch in south-west angle matches bays; glazed C20 porch extension.
East side: random rubble with scattered fenestration. Eaves- mounted moulded chimney on east side; central moulded chimney.
Lodge is contemporary with c1880 alterations to Kingshill House.
