Public house. Early C18, but altered C20. Red brick coursed with flints. Slate roof to front, pantiles to rear. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Central C20 door behind a fluted doorcase with a triglyph frieze and pediment. Two 6/6 sashes right and left within exposed boxes and under gauged skewback arches, all C20. C19 public house facade removed and whole of ground floor rebuilt C20. Platband between floors. Four 6/6 unhorned sashes to first floor, with an ornamental oval window right and left and a cusped oval centre window. Rebuilt parapet and gabled roof. Internal gable-end stacks right and left. North gable wall with some early C18 brick and flint but the gable head rebuilt C20. Rear with a 2-storey mid C20 brick extension over entire width. INTERIOR: ground-floor north fireplace has a re-used early C16 ribbon-moulded bressumer. Both former ground-floor rooms opened out to one area and given replica large-framed panelling. First floor has an inserted corridor partition to the east. 3 bridging beams with sunk-quadrant mouldings and a fourth with roll mouldings.
