THE MARINA 1.

5204 St Leonards Nos 117 and 118 TQ 7908 NW 9/421 II GV 2.

Circa 1830 by James Burton. Stuccoed. Parapet and cornice. 3 storeys. 3 windows.

Ground floor rusticated with 3 wide segmental arches with moulded impost, containing 2 panelled doors with fanlights, at centre, and windows either side the right-hand one large and modern. 1st floor balcony with ornate cast iron balustrade and canopy.

Sashes without glazing bars, 1st and 2nd floor in moulded architraves. Slate roof.

Including basement area wall, low, stuccoed, with paired pilasters and coping.

No 117 has plaque with inscription "Thomas Carlyle Author and Historian lived here 1864".

Nos 111 to 127 (consec) form a group.
