Public house. C16 with alterations of early C17, C19 and C20. 3-cell lobby- entrance plan. 2 storeys. Timber-framed, the front wall encased in red C19 brickwork, other walls rough-cast. plaintiled roof with internal chimney of red brick. Late C19 sash windows with segmental arched heads, some sashes having small panes. Partly-glazed 2-panelled C20 entrance door. In the parlour to right (now Lounge Bar) is a plaster ceiling richly decorated with C17 roses, fleurs-de-lys and thistles; the work continues into the C20 single- storey extension to rear, where it is presumably reset. Framing in the public Bar is fully exposed and earlier in type, perhaps representing a C16 core.
