Lock with bridge to west. c1770. By Brindley, Simcock and Dadford, engineers. Brick with stone dressings. Bridge has segmental arch with ashlar jambs, hood and coping. Oval plate with lettering: WIGHTWICK/NO 57/ BRIDGE. Lock has single upper and double lower gates; overflow to south. One of James Brindley's first locks.
