8/91 Westhoughton Church of England Primary School - GV II

School. 1861. Brick with stone dressings and slate roof. One storey, 8 bays, with lean-to bays to returns; 5th bay is larger, with gable. 3-light segmental pointed windows with tracery heads, that to 4th bay forming overlight to plain entrance. 5th bay has 5-light pointed window with hood mould. Weathered but- tresses and coped gables. Lean-to bays have segmental-pointed heads to entrance with flanking lights under hood moulds, that to left has lettering; 'BOYS' above, that to right 'GIRLS'. Gable-end stacks have canted angles.

Interior has laminated cruck trusses and purlins. Included for group value.
