LONG SUTTON CP A372 (North side) ST42NE UPTON 6/139 Upton Cottage (formerly listed as Upton Bridge Cottage) 17.4.59 - II

Detached cottage. C17. Local lias stone cut and squared, Ham stone dressings; clay pantile roof between coped gables; brick end and intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays. Hollow chamfer mullioned windows in recesses, 4-light below and 3-light above with rectangular leaded panes and iron-framed opening lights, continuous string over ground floor windows stepped up over bay 2 doorway, which has a C20 boarded door in moulded cambered archway: on west gable a lean-to extension, of early date, with 2-light mullioned window under separate label; another lean-to against east gable, plain. Interior not seen.
