Weston Hall, Main Street, Weston upon Trent - South Derbyshire

A large ambitious country house c1625-30, only ever part built. Reputedly used as a barracks for soldiers when Civil War fighting broke out in Weston in 1644. Lower floors have been in hospitality use since the 1990s; upper floors may always have been vacant. Kitchen and bar facilities were upgraded post 2011. By 2017 roof coverings were in poor condition and there were some significant structural issues. Historic England grant-aided urgent staircase repairs in 2017 and roof and other structural repairs in 2018. The latter completed in late 2019. Modern additions were repaired in early 2020.
