Monkwearmouth Station Museum, with screen walls, footbridge and waiting room, Sunderland - Sunderland

Former railway station, built in 1848 with additions of 1879, now a football museum. The site includes the main station building with pedimented portico and screen walls, an attached cast iron footbridge to the rear, and a waiting room and long screen wall to the west platform. There is a maintenance backlog, resulting in decay and some water ingress. A package of urgent repairs has recently been completed, and initial discussions have taken place to try and establish a maintenance regime for the site as a whole.
