Twizel medieval tower house and folly, Twizel, Duddo - Northumberland (UA)

The present building incorporates the remains of a medieval tower house which continued to be developed and added to into the C19. Much of the C19 structure was demolished and the building, which was once five storeys high, now stands to three storeys. The site has been subject to longstanding lack of regular maintenance. It shows signs of structural instability, including substantial vertical cracks around many of the arches and window openings. A measured survey has been completed.
