Nappa Hall, Askrigg, North Yorkshire Council (UA) - Yorkshire Dales (NP)

A fortified manor house built in 1459 for James Metcalf. A wing was added in C17. Most of the medieval portion has not been occupied for some years. The roof of the west tower has leaked and the floor is in a rotten and dangerous state. The roof coverings over the great hall and the south east wing are in poor condition, although some repairs have been undertaken and further works are proposed by the owner. Proposals for the repair and reuse of the hall have received Listed Building Consent.
