Stable block and riding school, Wentworth Woodhouse, Wentworth - Rotherham
Monumental stable block and riding school, built in 1768 to the design of John Carr of York, to the north west of the house. Now the property of the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust. The roof coverings are deteriorating and there is erosion to the stonework, particularly inside the courtyard. The Riding School has been reroofed. Project Development work leading to reuse is complete and an initial phase of work is underway, supported by Levelling Up and Historic England grants. The 1960s college buildings to the west of the site have been demolished, revealing the original buildings.
