Stanlow Abbey Cistercian Monastery and Monastic Grange - Cheshire West and Chester (UA)

Late C12 Cistercian monastery with a cell and grange from the late C13 incorporated in C18 buildings. Overgrown and collapsing. Access difficult, as the site is only accessible by boat. Historic England has carried out a desk based assessment to improve understanding of the site. A sustainable solution would see the upstanding remains stabilised, and the below-ground archaeology secured.
