Shireoaks Hall, Thorpe Lane, Shireoaks - Bassetlaw

Country house, circa 1600 with later alterations, set in remains of C17 and early C18 gardens. The hall has been much altered historically. There is some significant cracking and loose masonry at high level; roofs are evidently in poor condition; some ceiling plaster has failed and rainwater goods appear to be ineffective and undersized. The building has been neglected for many years; the north elevation is shrouded in vegetation. Historic England has encouraged the local authority to consider options to secure this site in recent years but we are not aware of any action having been taken.
