Ulverscroft Priory ruins, Priory Lane, Ulverscroft - Charnwood

The Priory of St Mary was founded in 1134 by Robert, Earl of Leicester, and was taken over by the Augustinian order in 1174. Visible remains date to C13, C14 and C15. Parts of the outbuildings have been restored as two cottages. The Parlour/Prior's lodging is propped and has a temporary roof. A schedule of repairs was prepared several years ago, but no further progress has been made. Historic England is seeking engagement with the owner to update condition assessment and repair schedule.
