Lavington Park, Duncton / East Lavington, Chichester - Chichester

Late C18 and C19 garden at the foot of the South Downs on the site of a late C16 house and garden set within a park of C18 origin, largely planted in the C19 and further altered in the C20. The house with extensive panoramic views north is now a school. School buildings and enabling development within the park has eroded historic character and designed landscape intentions. A heritage led estate plan by the school was discussed with The South Downs NPA in 2017 to improve conservation management as the historic and aesthetic value of the site is vulnerable to futher change and development.
