Croxdale Hall, Croxdale and Hett / City of Durham - County Durham (UA)

A late C18 walled garden accompanying a country house, set in parkland of early to mid-C18 origin. The walled garden and lakes were designed by Lewis Kennedy. Croxdale Hall has been the seat of the Salvin family since the C15. Maintenance of the gardens has reduced in recent years and the water bodies are in poor and deteriorating condition. The notable 'cranked' walls flanking the orangery are in an advanced state of decay. Historic England has carried out recent research into the significance of the walled garden.
