Church of St George the Martyr, Queen Square, Holborn WC1 - Camden

Built 1706 by Arthur Tooley with major re-modelling 1869 by SS Teulon who altered the exterior, added a chancel, and removed most of the galleries. The roof is in poor condition and this, along with defects in the rainwater goods, may have contributed to falls of plaster which necessitated the church to close. Emergency stabilisation works were carried out in 2019 which permitted worship in the church again. In 2020 Historic England awarded a Covid-19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Response Fund grant to undertake a condition survey of the ceiling, prepare a schedule of work and a cost plan.
