Little Temple, Temple Newsam Park - Leeds
A garden eye-catcher and viewpoint built in the 1760s and probably designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Of sandstone and rendered brick under a stone-slate roof. A hybrid design, mixing classical temple form with gothick detailing. The temple is in poor condition, although a management plan commissioned for the landscape might help to secure the future of the temple. Recent scrub clearance and removal of self-set trees has made it more prominent in the landscape.
