Christ Church, Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield - Kirklees

Gothic Revival parish church of 1823 to 1824 by Leeds architect Thomas Taylor, built to accommodate the growing population of industrial Huddersfield. Widespread defects affecting weathering details, rainwater goods, masonry and windows. Structural movement in evidence to organ chamber, tower and spire. Repairs to the tower and spire and general masonry have been completed in 2018 with a National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant for Places of Worship. A further phase of work to repair the organ chamber is required.
