High Street Culture
Find out what’s coming up in our four-year programme of cultural activity across England's High Streets Heritage Action Zones, continuing until 2024.
The main focus is on the improvement of traditional shopfronts and public realm of the high street, Castle Street.
Improvements to the connection of Castle Street and Argents Mead (Hinckley's in town open space gardens) are also proposed.
This market town, which still has an active market taking place three times per week, has a fine main street and wonderful grounds surrounding the site of Hinckley Castle.
The main street's architecture is predominantly Victorian, which have jitties, passageways, at the rear of the properties. Part of the funding aims to restore these charming elements.
The improvement of the streetscape and surrounding buildings will undoubtedly create a more appealing environment.
