St Andrew, Mill Road

St Andrew, Mill Road, Great Ryburgh, Norfolk NR21 0DZ

Grade II* church dated to late Saxon origins, featuring one of the largest of the round towers in the country. The top belfry stage is octagonal, probably 14th Century, and the tower houses a well-used ring of 6 bells. An unusual plan-form, having the in-line tower, nave and chancel, but long transepts added in the 14th Century. The south transept is set across with a fine timber Great War memorial.
