Small detached hexagonal garden building within Melbourne Hall Gardens. It has a low vaulted cellar used for storage of garden produce and a main room above used for storage of historic archives of the Melbourne estate. It appears to have been originally built as a dovecote and then later remodelled in the early 18th century as an eye catcher in the landscape as part of the pleasure garden design. The building comprises buff stone walls, Westmoreland slate surrounding an ogee shaped roof, timber sash windows and internal plasterwork.

Opening Arrangements

Gardens: April to September, Wed, Sat and Sun 1pm-5pm. Every day in August except first 3 Mondays. Hall: August only, every day except first 3 Mondays, 2pm-5pm.
