Description

Eighteen drawings, 5 divided into 2 jobs.

The hospital site consists of nine separate buildings, some attached to each other by covered ways.

One of the jobs shows proposed alterations to be made in 1930, the other changes made to the married quarters in 1911.

There are 8 design and construction drawings for subsidiary buildings: the nurses quarters (2), orderlies barracks (2), dead house, married quarters and south west hospital hut (2). These date from 1868 to 1891. There are also: record drawings of the north east, north west and infectious diseases hospital huts and the reading room, a drawing showing changes made to the main block in 1892 and 1893 and a site plan produced at the same time as the building of the nurses and orderlies quarters.

All the drawings are for and by the Royal Engineers, many are signed and some of the construction drawings are also signed by the contractors.

The hospital is sometimes referred to as part of Western Heights, on other plans it is referred to as the Station Hospital.
