Description

Wades Farm was originally one timber framed hall house, dating from the early fifteenth century, with additions in the sixteenth century. The house was altered in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, divided into five cottages before the record photographs contained in this file were taken (numbered 1-5) and then altered to form three cottages afterwards (numbered 1,2 and 4). It's likely that this set of photographs was commissioned to record the condition of the building before alteration works were to be carried out. The building is now divided into two dwellings, numbered 1 and 4.

This photographic job contains contact prints only, created from two sizes of negative.
