WELSHAMPTON C.P. BREADEN HEATH SJ 43 NW 5/193 Old Hall Farmhouse - GV II Shown on O.S. map as Holbrook Farmhouse.

Farmhouse, now disused. Early-to mid C17 with later additions and alter- ations. Timber framed with red brick infill, cladding and additions; graded slate roof. 3-unit baffle-entry plan with eaves slightly raised.

Framing: square panels to front partly concealed by C19 brick cladding; queen-strut end trusses. Late C19 and early C20 casements, 3 directly below eaves and 3 to ground floor, 2 to left and one to right of C19 boarded door with cambered head to right of centre. Infilled doorway to left of present door with ridge stack above, formerly forming baffle entry. External end stack to left and internal end stack to right.

C19 cast-iron pump attached to far right. Early C19 two-storey gabled red brick addition at right-angles to rear on left and narrow mid-C19 gabled addition at right-angles to rear on right with C19 red brick lean- to dairy between. Interior. Timber frame fragmentarily exposed through- out with chamfered ceiling beams and exposed joists to ground floor.

Plank doors and inset panelled wall cupboards with variety of H-, L- and cocks' head hinges. C19 cast-iron grates to fireplaces and queen- strut roof in 3 bays to main range.
