Independent chapel, now United Reformed Church. 1836-37; reseated 1894. Builder Samuel Fruer, reseating by Pells & Son.

Red brick, partly stuccoed, colourwashed at front; pantile roof. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 3-bay front, gable to street, the bays articulated by giant Tuscan pilasters. Centre bay broken at ground floor by recessed porch flanked by pilasters in antis: within porch, double leaf doors to right and left give access to chapel. Outer bays on ground floor have 16-pane windows with stuccoed lintels. First floor windows are similar. Pedimented gable encloses clock face. Left return: 4 bays with 16-pane windows on each floor, identical to those lighting facade. INTERIOR: not inspected. Previous list description (1971) refers to galleried interior.
