10/87 No. 12 (The Manor House) 20/2/52 (formerly listed as G.V. II Manor House and barn)

House, partly divided into flats. Mid C17 with later additions and alterations. Brick with plain tiled roofs. L plan. Facade of north wing to road of 3 ground floor sashes and 2 to first floor, all with glazing bars.

Courtyard front now comprises 4 dwellings with doorways and porches of C20.

2 sash windows to ground floor with glazing bars and 3 casements to first floor. Gabled roof with ridge stacks at intervals. First floor of north section with Diocletian window. C17 house on east-west axis to right. Large external stepped stack. South front remodelled early C18 of 2 storeys and dormer attic. 2 distinct parts, that to right of 4 bays defined by rusticated quoins : Half glazed panelled door within timber doorcase with moulded segmental pediment supported on pair of console brackets. Sash windows with glazing bars within exposed frames. 3 bay elevation to left : French doors and 1 casement replace orginal ground floor sashes. Moulded brick string course. 3 first floor sashes as before. Heavy timber eaves cornice through entire facade below gabled roof in which are 4 hipped dormers, 2 with C18 casements. Interior retains bridging beam in kitchen : sunk roll chamfers with tongue and diamond stops. Roof of this range of tie beams, collars, 2 tiers clasped purlins and windbracing. Ties and collars cut to accommodate attic flats and dormers.
