4/97 Bridge, 70m to W of Hutton Hall

GV II

Bridge carrying driveway over stream. Contemporary with Hutton Hall. C.1866. Moulded, pointed-segmental arch. Rock-faced and ashlar sandstone. Circular recesses to spandrels. Brick parapets pierced through with lozenge and Star-of-David motifs; stone copings. The bridge stands on a foundation of rough-hewn boulders forming the banks of the stream. Included for group value, as part of an architectural entity with Hutton Hall.
