THE BEACON 1.

5176 (North-East Side) 6.12.49. No 19 (Byron Hotel), railings to steps - and area railings SY 0080 1/19 II GV 2.

Lady Byron and her daughter stayed here in 1828. Stucco facade with outer quoins and balustraded parapet above heavily moulded eaves cornice. Mansard slate roof 2 storeys, with 3 modern dormers and basement. 3 windows, the south eastern of 3 lights, generally sashes with labels above and vertical glazing bars only.

Good Ionic porch with fluted columns and round arched door with plain fanlight.

Steps with railings and area railings. Rear facade unaltered.
