PENISTONE ROYD MOOR R0AD SE20SW (north side, off) 3/62 L-shaped range of barns immediately north of Royd Moor Farmhouse (formerly listed with the farmhouse) GV II

Stable and barn range. Barn dated 1785, stable slightly later. Coursed, squared stbne. Stone slate roof. L-shape plan. Quoins. Barn: tall segmental-headed cart entrance to left with keystone dated 'J H 1785' and quoined surround. Two lower segmental-arched cart sheds at right with common central jamb. Two-light window above. Stable range, projecting on left, has 3 entrances with deep lintels and quoined surrounds (2 part-blocked) and two small later openings at high level. Square pitching holes to rear of stable range. Rear of barn has opposing, tall cart entry and ventilation slits.
