ACKWORTH STATION ROAD (north SE41NW side) Low Ackworth 2/31 No 63 (The Mount) 25.3.1968 II

House. Probably early C19; altered and extended in later C19. Coursed squared sandstone, slate roof. Double-depth 4-room plan, plus added wings.

Three storeys and 3 bays, symmetrical with lower 2-storey single-bay side wings set back. Central doorway with Tuscan porch, flanked by canted bay windows; 16-pane sashes at 1st floor, square 12-pane sashes at 2nd floor, all these with moulded architraves. Added lean-to wings, each finished with square-topped parapets disguising the monopitched roofs, have sashed windows on both floors.

Interior: altered, but contains good dog-legged staircase which has iron balusters with diamond panels.
