Includes: Garden walls and attached storage building, to rear of Marske Hall HALL CLOSE Marske. Garden walls to rear of Marske Hall (qv) with storage building attached. Early C17 and C18. Walls coursed squared sandstone and brick; storage building coursed squared sandstone with pantiled roof and stone gable coping. Enclosing 2 gardens to north of Marske Hall with storage building set in south-west corner of southern garden. 3-3.5m high stone wall along south boundary of garden has 2 courses of gabled coping with roll moulding; inner face supported by wide stone buttresses with sloped coping to 2 offsets. West wall in both gardens has buttresses with one offset supporting walls with lower courses of stone and the remainder of brick with gabled stone coping, ramped up at north end of south garden and stepped up at north end of north garden. West wall in south garden, partly obscured by inserted C20 housing, has lower courses stone and upper brick with gabled stone coping, with buttresses on external face to Hall Close. Cross wall at north end of stone and brick with buttresses on inner face; that between gardens has round-headed brick arch at west end. Storage building at south-west corner breaks through wall and projects into yard of Marske Hall. Low, single storey, one window. Boarded door in east elevation facing south garden, small 4-pane window in north elevation and stone corbels supporting gable coping. South garden wall interrupted by C20 gateway to sheltered housing set in garden.
