RAMSGATE BROAD STREET TR 3865 SW (east side) 9/71 Gates and railings to churchyard of St. George GV II Gates and railings. C19 wrought iron and ashlar masonry. Simple-iron rails, about 5 feet high, on low masonry wall, with iron-twist principals with baluster finials, and scrolled panelled piers with iron twist supports and baluster finials. About 50 metres in length, returned along roadside at northern end about 15 metres. Stopped at both ends by rusticated piers, about 12 feet high, with ball finials. At northern end of longer length of rail the rails are ramped up to rusticated gate piers with gadrooned urn finials. Double leaf carriage gates with pedestrian side gates all with dog rails, scrolled central panels and scrolled frieze, arched over carriage gates. Scrolled iron, piers support carriage gates, with scrolled finials, with scrolled cartouche-like overthrows to pedestrian gates and, tripled, to carriage gates.
