TL 96 SW BEYTON THE GREEN 4/9 Corner Cottage
GV II House, late C16 core: possibly built as a barn. Remodelled and converted to dwelling in C18. Timber-framed and plastered. Pantiled roof, once thatched: C19/C20 internal end chimneys to left and right. 2 storeys. 2 bays (a further bay to left was demolished mid C20). Mid C20 casements. Mid C20 gabled pantiled entrance porch with panelled door. The house has arch-braced open trusses, all altered, but with an aisle (now an outshut) at the rear.
The front wall framing survives in part. There is no evidence for an upper floor until C18; this indicates use as a barn until that time.
