TQ 2880 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER UPPER GROSVENOR 68/55 STREET, W1 24.2.58 No. 45 G.V. II Terraced town house, a pair with No. 44. 1727-30, probably by Charles Griffith, carpenter, with C.19 heightening. Brown brick, slate roof. 5 storeys and basement. 3 windows wide. Entrance to left (balancing that of No. 44) with enclosed stone porch with engaged Doric columns. Recessed glazing bar sashes under cambered arches.
Plat band over ground floor, brick band over 2nd floor and parapet coping continuous with those of No. 44. 1st floor early C.19 cast iron balconettes. Wrought iron area railings. Early C.19 full height bowed 3-window rear elevation. Interior in convincing early Georgian, probably with some reset genuine features, by Turner Lord and Co.
