Tomb of Joseph Westwood, Southern Grove, Tower Hamlets Cemetery E3 - Tower Hamlets

A prominent funerary monument dating from 1883, in the form of a Decorated style wayside cross. It is in poor condition due to the loss of parts of its low railings, tiles, finials and other detailing. The Local Authority commissioned a monument safety survey in 2019. The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, who manage the site for the Local Authority, have completed a Conservation Management Plan, with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This Identifies the tomb as a priority for future grant funding (April 2023).
