Barn at Manor Farm, Old Burghclere, Burghclere - Basingstoke and Deane
Manorial barn, 1451, built for the Bishop of Winchester. Suffering from water ingress and failure of joints, the building needs comprehensive repair. The owners have decided to undertake the repairs on a phased basis over several years. Works commenced in May 2017 to repair the 3 eastern bays of the barn. These works have been successfully completed. The next phase of repair is now underway having started in February 2023 after a delay due to Covid. These repairs are supported by a Farming in Protected Landscapes grant and should be completed in March 2024.
