Newland Blast Furnace (Blacking Mill only), Egton with Newland / Mansriggs - Westmorland and Furness Council (UA)

Built 1799 as a water-powered rolling mill associated with Newland Furnace, became a blacking mill and, by 1913, a sawmill. Had been in a deteriorating condition for many years, before being acquired by new owners. Remains now consolidated and repaired, and converted to dwelling/workspace by dropping a modern structure within the footprint. The subject of a 'Grand Designs' TV programme in the autumn of 2021.
