Bayham Abbey, Frant / Lamberhurst - Tunbridge Wells / Wealden

Late C19 mansion gardens with formal terraces and informal pleasure grounds set within a Humphry Repton Red Book park focused on the abbey ruins. Now managed by English Heritage. Partly in East Sussex and Kent. The estate was divided in the 1970s with further fragmentation of the site since. Mixed arable conversion has impacted the landscape fabric integrity supporting the composition of the parkland. A parkland plan exists in part around Bayham Old Abbey (2012) and recommendation of a joint approach to a parkland plan process have been made through Countryside Stewardship advice.
