Church of St Cuthbert, Market Place, Darlington - Darlington (UA)

St Cuthbert's is one of the most important churches in the Early English style of Gothic architecture in the north of England. The nave, transepts and chancel are housed beneath steeply pitched roofs, with covering affected by significant problems. A first phase of roof repairs was undertaken in 2016, followed by a second phase in 2018. Both phases were made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants for Places of Worship scheme. A grant from the Church of England’s Strategic Development Fund will allow remaining repair works to be undertaken.
