Christ Apostolic Church (formerly St Columba), Kingsland Road, Hackney E2 - Hackney

The parish church was built in the Gothic Revival style in1868-9 by James Brooks and the mortuary chapel was added in 1904-5 by E Geldart. It forms an enclosed courtyard with the vicarage and Sisters' House, listed separately. Construction is in red brick with Bath stone dressings. A drone survey has confirmed serious decay in the high-level lantern above the central tower and the rainwater goods; a drainage survey was funded in 2020 by a Covid-19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Response Fund grant. The Diocese and the congregation are discussing future management of the church and the site.
