Church of St Mary the Virgin, Church Road, Meppershall - Central Bedfordshire (UA)

Parish church dating to C12 and half rebuilt 1875-6 by Sir Arthur Blomfield. Stonework of coursed ironstone with ashlar dressings and clay tile roofs. The clunch corner stones are decaying as well as the tracery to the south aisle chapel and vestry, render panels failing. High-level masonry problems and tower in need of repointing. The churchyard walls have been repaired. Interim protective works were carried out from October 2019 and a major repair project to repair and stabilise the tower, transepts and porch roofs, rainwater goods and other associated works commenced in Spring 2023.
