Church of St Mary, School Road, West Walton - King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Large parish church, early C13 with separate bell tower of the same date, Interior has a C15 hammerbeam roof with carved figures, and medieval polychrome decoration on the walls of the clerestory and the arcade piers. Extensive ground settlement and active structural movement, with leaning piers, distortion in the arcades, and masonry detachment from the walls. Historic England offered a Repair Grant for emergency repairs in June 2019. Holding work to close the cracks and monitor movement and ground condition investigation underway. However gable remains mobile and the church remains at risk.
